2008 Hocking Hlils Visitors Guide Formatted Ads
The 2008 Hocking Hills Visitors Guide will again give advertisers the option of choosing a "formatted advertisement" or an ad of their own choosing. The formatted ads follow a template and are stylized to match editorial sections and the cover of the rest of the Visitors Guide.
HHTA fashioned the Visitors Guide with the option of formatted ads after other large tourism areas' Guides, especially those with hundreds of lodging choices similar to Hocking Hills (such as beach areas of Florida and Gatlinburg), because they present the information in a more clean, concise manner. In July 2005, HHTA held focus groups in Cincinnati and had each group review the 05 Visitors Guide and many comments were that it was "nothing but a bunch of ads" and the subjects seemed to pass through the ad sections looking for more editorial. Therefore, HHTA began offering ad styles via formatted ads that match the editorial sections.
Other incentives to try a formatted ad include:
- Better Placement: Formatted ads lead each interest section of the Guide (i.e. lodging, dining, shopping)
- Marketing Aid: HHTA's public relations firm, Weirick Communication is available to help you with the wording of your formatted ad, if you choose
- Composing fees waived
