Indian Run - Sept. 19!

by Hocking Hills Tourism Association

The Hocking Hills Indian Run, taking place Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, features 5K, 10K, 20K, 40K and 60K races. The courses lead runners through forests, past waterfalls, along country roads and through Ohio's scenic Hocking Hills State Park.

For more information, click here for the Indian Run web page. Participants can register in person on race day.

The 40k distance has proved popular, especially for runners training for marathons. Chip timing is utilized to streamline the timing process for more accurate results.

Running isn’t the only outdoor pursuit for visitors. Besides numerous hiking venues, there are many bike paths and cycling-friendly routes throughout the Hocking Hills region, including the popular Hockhocking Adena Bikeway that is part of Ohio ’s extensive rails-to-trails effort. The Hockhocking Adena path takes riders on a 19-mile journey from Nelsonville to Athens , and the trail is perfect for biking, walking and rollerblading.
