FREE SUMMER FESTIVAL SHOWCASES GARDENS, ART & MUSIC
Logan, Ohio -- A lovely, one-of-a-kind summer festival will take place in Ohios spectacular Hocking Hills region this season, paying homage the natural beauty of daylilies, as well as water lilies, Asiatic lilies, hostas and other popular garden plants.
The annual Lilyfest is a three-day celebration of gardening, music and artistry taking place in mid-July (July 11-13 in 2008) on a private estate in Hocking County. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour three acres of gorgeous landscaped gardens on the Bishop estate. Lilyfest features a vast array of plants, including hundreds of varieties of daylilies, hostas, perennials, annuals, shrubs and more, all tucked neatly into the woods.
Master gardeners from The Ohio State University will be on hand to offer their expertise, and festival goers will have the opportunity to purchase plants at great prices. More than 70 fine artists will display and sell original works including gardens sculpture, blown glass, jewelry, wood carving and other works. Dozens of other festivals and unforgettable events take place throughout the summer in Ohios Hocking Hills region, including moonlight canoe rides, feeding hummingbirds by hand, flea markets, and the murder mystery on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad.
